Brain on Fire:

The suspense in Brain on Fire was incredible. One chapter after the next, I keep asking myself, what happens next? While reading this memoir, my brain was constantly curious and desperate for more information on Susannah’s disease. What’s wrong with her? What will happen to Susannah? Will she live? When I came to the end of the book, I found that all my questions had been satisfied.
The memoir, Brain on Fire, by Susannah Cahalan, is a fascinating recovery story. Susannah, the main character, was a so-called “average” young adult working as a reporter, when strange things started to happen to her. Then, when her life grew more bizarre, she went to see a psychologist to make sure she was okay. Something was definitely wrong.
I would definitely recommend this book who is interested in brain science, psychology, or medicine. Brain on Fire was filled with interesting facts on the brain and how it functions. A good portion of the book was set at a hospital. Being so, the characters used a great deal of “medical talk.” I am not well-educated in the area of medical sciences; therefore, I could not fully comprehend a few little pieces of information. However, Susannah knew that most readers were probably in the same situation and did a great job explaining everything.
Brain on Fire was very interesting and definitely worth the read!
