Girl on a Train

The Girl On The Train
Review by Cassie D

The Girl On The Train is a well written, well rounded story; it’s just very slow throughout the book. I felt the books’ characters were the most interesting part of the book. The plot itself to me seemed to take a few chapters to get moving, and once it did get moving it was moving very slow until the very end. But in the slow plot, the thing that kept me reading were the characters. Rachel was constantly changing and doing things you would never expect. The way Rachel interacts with other characters is very interesting and well told. While the plot of the story and the mystery might be slow the interactions between the characters are most definitely not. The characters are always changing how they interact with each other. Sometimes they hate each other and try to cause harm to each other, and other times they like each other and are trying to help in anyway they can. Other times you see someone's selfish motives pulling them through the book. The last chapter is where the plot and mystery really picked up. Throughout the whole book the mystery barely progressed and then the last chapter it was thrown at you all at once. I did not enjoy this part of the book. I would recommend this book to patient people, not thrill seekers.
